Mid-Week Blues-Buster Week 51 WINNERS

Week 51 of the Mid-Week Blues-Buster is over and done…

Judge Ruth Long had a bunch of great entries to wade through. Here are her decisions…

I say it every time but you guys make judging so damn tough! There’s something to love in every one of these stories! This is one of my favorite songs and it was so fan to see wide variety of stories it spawned! Thank you to everyone who offered up their ink. Special thanks for all the terrific encouraging comments!

First: Celia for Dark Silence – This piece totally nailed the essence of the song. I loved the character and setup, and would love to see more of both!

This line clinched it for me: “God don’t let me lose my nerve.” I don’t want to disappoint the kid.

Second: Snellopy for All Ye Sinners – This piece threw me for the most enjoyable loop. Whoa! So much fun to read! I sure hope there is a lot more Aithan up your inky sleeve.

Third: Bliss for Whisky and Self Pity – This. Yeah. Love this. Every now and then, life relents and sends us an external angel to help fight our internal monsters.

Honorable Mentions for killer closing lines!

Dr. Magoo: “… the things under the bed would have the most wonderful time watching me devour her brains.”

The Rogue Tinker: “It was like there was an angel with her hand on my hand at the end.”

Congrats to all of our Winners. Celia, here’s the Winner’s Badge to add to your collection;

Thanks to all of our writers & readers and thanks to Judge Ruth for a job well done.

See you all on Tuesday, when we celebrate one year of Blues-Busting…
