Mid-Week Blues-Buster Week 12 WINNERS

And just like that Week 12 of the Mid-Week Blues-Buster is in the books.

We got a great response this week.

Speaking of Siobhan…

Miranda Kate (@PurpleQueenNL) is my winner. What I loved about the story was the careful detail the main character paid to the wedding dress. Everything pointed to a happy marriage and memories warming his heart, the dress being the physical embodiment of that. But as the story continued, the details painted a very different picture and his mild regret for ruining the dress with her blood. I was totally sucked in and amazed with the final result “He’d never imagined that frying pans could do that much damage.” and “After all that’s what she used to say the most, wasn’t it? “You’re useless Paul, never ready for anything, or anyone; you’ve never got your shit together.” He was happy to prove her wrong today.” Wow, totally powerful and I completely sympathize with him. Nicely done, Miranda.

Close second was Cara Michaels (@caramichaels) story of Claire and Jonathan Bryant. The whole sci-fi time is fluid thing sucked me in and held me until Claire stood alone with nothing and no one around her. I love that she didn’t know him, yet he had met her before, and told her how. I want to see this one done because the twists will be awesome as only Cara can make them.

Third, I’d pick Mark Ethridge (@LurchMunster) for the sweet sorrow and glorious memories of a love now lost. I could totally picture myself as an older person with my loved ones gone. Nicely done, Mark.
